Following a Detailed Survey of the existing building we set to work to look at the elements of the building that were bring the exterior down. A number if key areas were then looked at in more detail:
External Wall Finish - The Coursed Stone looked unnatural
Roofing Material - The Concrete Tiles looked Heavy and Dark
The front entrance was enclosed by the very low roof line

The external walls were rendered with a cream colour render, this hide the bradstone and brightened up the exterior.
The roof was stripped back and replaced with a slate finish.
The windows were removed and replaced with Painted Softwood with smaller cottage style panes.
The Dormers were narrowed and replaced with pitched roofs and were then rendered to match the style of the rest of the house.
Lastly a new front porch was added to lift the front entrance and hide the low level roof, this porch was over-sailed to allow a large inviting sheltered area to keep guests dry.
