Due to the orientation of the house the path of the sun was a very important issue to my client. We created a 3D model of this proposal not only to help look at how the sun would affect the house, but also to allow the client a very clear indication of how the finished extension might look.
We experimented with various glass roof, were were concerned that we didn’t want the room to feel too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter.
Finished House
Finished House
The existing house was already finished with UPVC windows, and despite early thoughts in creating the proposed windows frames and detailing in painted timber it was decided that mainly on cost grounds that the proposal could reflect the UPVC of the exiting house.
This decision made the difference in the project going ahead at the construction stage.
The Internal layout very much achieved the original brief requirements and then client is now able to enjoy the house far more.
